The Old School is perfectly situated for easy access to the historic cathedral city of Chichester, the wonderful West Sussex countryside, and the many interesting places to visit in the surrounding area. We are the closest Chichester B&B to the Goodwood Motor Circuit, and the Goodwood Estate is nearby with its flagship events such as the Festival of Speed, and well situated for visiting Fontwell Park Racecourse and the Chichester Festival Theatre. We have plenty of free off-road parking for our guests, with a regular bus service straight to and from Chichester city centre that stops just a few yards from The Old School.
Built in 1839 under the patronage of the fifth Duke of Richmond, the Old School is a well known and cherished local landmark. The school’s foundation was connected with a concern for social improvement at the time. The building’s academic life came to an end in 1967, and it has since been a residential property. The Old School retains many of its original features, and in recent times has been tastefully and sympathetically refurbished.
